Disclaimer.

I want to make it crystal clear from the very beginning that this is merely a compilation of my personal opinions: everything from politics to my favourite brand of toothpaste. Don’t take what I say for fact, because most of it probably won’t be. Instead, question it all – everything is open to discussion.

I will not try to fool myself into thinking that I have all encompassing knowledge – no one does. I’m sure there will be topics I discuss (and re-discuss) where I won’t know all the sides of the argument. I most definitely may be mistaken about some things. There will also be times where I’ll be so frustrated that I’ll go off on a massive rant but later on reflect on the situation and see it in a completely different light. Just remember, these are my opinions from my point of view with my limited bank of knowledge.

Oh, and if this ever kicks off (not that I expect it to), I don’t want to be held responsible for anything that may result from having read this blog, so don’t consider trying to sue me. Freedom of speech, right?

You may be wondering why I chose Tainted Faith as a title. Well, let’s be honest guys, the world has gone to hell. We aren’t as civilised or intelligent as we claim to be. What have we learned since we’ve been placed here? I’ll tell you what: how to kill one another more efficiently. Not how to live together in harmony. No, no. Instead, we spend so much time and effort on improving our armoury. From cavemen with clubs to knights with swords to idiots with weapons of mass destruction.

I don’t consider myself a pessimist – I do believe there is hope for us all. I believe some day, possibly a thousand years down the line, planet Earth may become a place we can live without too much worry or guilt on our minds. I hope we can one day walk down the street without the worry of getting mugged or raped or WWIII breaking out. I hope we can learn to accept one another as we are regardless of race, gender, religion or all those other pointless details. I hope we can be proud of our governments and what they represent, what they do. I hope we can live in a world where everyone has equal opportunity – no one has to starve or suffer abuse or be denied their basic civil rights that all people are entitled to. It is possible. It can happen.

But we must face the facts and admit the chances are pretty slim. We are too greedy. We only care about ourselves and those close to us. We are prejudiced. Regardless of what it is, if it’s different to us and what we know, we don’t like it: other people, other ideas, other…anything, really. Our politicians are corrupt. They say they will make the world a better place, but they’ll only do it if it pays well enough. The lies! And we naively believe in them.

So here’s my outcry! This is my attempt at making the world a better place. I’m reaching out to YOU and saying open your mind! Do your part to help! We can all make a difference, regardless of how insignificant it may seem in the grand scheme of things. I do have faith.
